Beta terms of use
Version 1.0 · 25 October 2026. These are the rules for using Clickety Bricks while it's in beta. Please read them; they're short.
The short version
- The beta is free, and it's still being built. Things may break, so save your builds to a file often.
- What you build is yours. We only use it to run the app and, if you send a bug report, to fix the bug.
- Be kind, don't break or misuse the app, and respect other people's rights, including the LEGO Group's.
- Under 13? A parent or guardian must sign up for you. 13 to 17? You need a parent's or guardian's permission.
- Clickety Bricks isn't made or approved by the LEGO Group.
1. Who we are, and agreeing to these terms
Clickety Bricks is run by Clickety Bricks (Pty) Ltd (registration with CIPC in progress), South Africa ("we", "us"). You can reach us at [email protected] (postal address on request).
By joining the waitlist or using the beta, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the beta. Our privacy page explains how we handle your information; it's part of how we run the service, but it isn't a contract you have to accept.
2. Age rules
- Under 13: you can't join the waitlist or have a beta account yourself. A parent or guardian can sign up with their own email and let you use it with them. When the builder is public, you'll be able to use it with no account at all.
- 13 to 17: you may join only with your parent's or guardian's permission. Parents and guardians: by giving permission, you agree to these terms for your child and are responsible for how they use the beta.
- 18 and over: you can join yourself.
3. The beta
- The beta is free. We'll never charge you for anything without asking first; if we ever offer paid plans, they'll have their own terms and you can choose.
- Invites go out in waves. Joining the waitlist doesn't guarantee a place, or a place by a certain date.
- The beta is a test version. Features may change, move or disappear, and the beta may pause or end.
- You need a computer with a mouse or trackpad and an up-to-date browser. Phones and tablets aren't supported yet.
4. Your account
When sign-in starts, you'll sign in with a one-time link sent to your email. Keep your email account secure, and don't share sign-in links. Tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account. One account per person, please.
5. Your builds belong to you
- You own the models, instructions, pictures and videos you make with Clickety Bricks (as far as they're yours to own; see section 7 for the parts and LEGO® designs that aren't).
- Your builds are saved in your own browser and in files you download. We can't see them and can't get them back for you, so save to a file often.
- You give us a limited permission (a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence) to store, copy and process your builds only as needed to run the app for you and, if you attach a model, screenshot or other file to a bug report, to look at it, reproduce the problem and fix the bug. We won't publish your builds or use them in marketing unless you clearly agree to that separately. This permission ends when the build is deleted from our systems, for example when the bug report is deleted (see the privacy page for how long that is).
- If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them to improve Clickety Bricks without owing you anything. We won't name you without asking.
6. Using the beta fairly
Please don't:
- try to break, overload, hack or get around the security of the app, the website or the bot check;
- use bots or scripts to join the waitlist, make fake sign-ups or game the invite list;
- copy, scrape or resell the app or its data, or use it to build a competing service;
- send us anything illegal, hateful or harmful, or anything you don't have the right to share (for example, someone else's private information, or the LEGO Group's official instructions, box art or logos);
- use Clickety Bricks to make and sell copies of official LEGO® set instructions, or to pass off what you make as official LEGO® products;
- pretend to be someone else, or break any law.
If you find a security problem, please tell us privately at [email protected] and give us time to fix it. Thank you.
7. LEGO® and other people's work
Not affiliated with the LEGO Group
LEGO® is a trademark of the LEGO Group of companies which does not sponsor, authorize or endorse this site. Clickety Bricks is an independent, unofficial fan project. The app shows digital models of LEGO® parts so you can design builds; it doesn't contain or sell any LEGO products. The LEGO® trademarks, the minifigure design and LEGO® theme names belong to the LEGO Group.
Parts, data and software made by others
- Part models: from the LDraw Parts Library, by its volunteer authors, licensed under CC BY 2.0 and CC BY 4.0 (some parts are CC0). The part files are served with their author and licence lines intact.
- Clip and bar snapping: uses the LDCad Shadow Library by Roland Melkert and contributors, licensed under CC BY-SA 4.0. We serve its files unmodified, with its licence, and the app reads them as they are.
- Part, colour and set data: from Rebrickable.
- Open-source software: the app uses open-source libraries, including three.js; their licences are listed in the app.
- Part prices, if shown, are estimates from third-party marketplaces and may be out of date or wrong.
These licences give you rights too: you can use those parts and data under their own licences, which these terms don't limit. Model files you export list parts by number and don't contain LDraw part geometry; pictures rendered from parts aren't covered by the LDraw licence.
8. Our app and name
The Clickety Bricks app, website, name and logo (apart from the third-party material above) belong to us. You may use the app as these terms allow, and you may share pictures, videos and instructions of your own builds, including saying they were made with Clickety Bricks. Please don't copy the app itself or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we made or approved something we didn't.
9. Important: the beta comes "as is", and limits on our responsibility
Please read this section carefully. It limits what we're responsible for.
- The beta is free and unfinished. We provide it "as is" and "as available". As far as the law allows, we don't promise that it will work without errors or interruptions, that it will be accurate (for example, that a machine that works in the app will work with real bricks, or that a part price is right), or that your builds won't be lost.
- You're responsible for saving and backing up your builds.
- As far as the law allows, we're not liable for any loss of builds or data, lost time, or indirect or knock-on losses from using or not being able to use the beta.
- As far as the law allows, our total liability to you for anything to do with the beta is limited to R1,000 (one thousand rand).
- Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for fraud, for harm we cause on purpose or through gross negligence, for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that the law doesn't allow us to limit or exclude. You also keep any rights you have under the consumer laws of the country where you live that can't be changed by agreement, including South Africa's Consumer Protection Act where it applies.
10. Ending things
- You can stop using the beta, unsubscribe, or ask us to delete your waitlist entry or account at any time by emailing [email protected].
- We may suspend or remove your access if you break these terms, if we need to for security or legal reasons, or if we end the beta. Where it's fair and safe, we'll warn you first and give you time to save your builds to files.
- Sections 5 (the feedback part), 7, 9, 11 and 12 keep applying after your access ends.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the beta changes. We'll change the version number and date at the top, and if a change is important we'll tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. If you keep using the beta after that, the new terms apply. If you don't agree, you can stop using it and ask us to delete your information.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. If you have a problem, please email us first and we'll try to sort it out. If we can't, the courts of South Africa can decide the dispute. If you're a consumer living elsewhere, you can also use the courts where you live, and you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of your country.
13. Everything else
- If a court decides part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
- If we don't enforce a rule straight away, we can still enforce it later.
- These terms (with the privacy page) are the whole agreement between you and us about the beta.
- You can't transfer these terms to someone else. We may transfer them to a company we set up to run Clickety Bricks, or to a new owner who keeps these promises; we'll tell you if that happens.
14. Contact
Questions about these terms? Email [email protected] and we'll give you our postal address if you'd rather write.
